Hebrew calligraphy (387 photos)
My calligraphy website: www.script-sign.com After HAVING history Realized Through These Two Maltese dream exhibitions in 2005, Michel HAS gotten down at present to a new project: to exhibit Hebrew calligraphic art history. It's a matter of ounces again Paying homage to the Maternal branch of family history, Sephardic Jews Chased out of Spain in 1492 Before Settling Down on the island of Gozo (Maltesan archipelago). This new project goes back to August 2004, to the time of a visit to Israel. On His return, Michel Is All at once Deeply Moved and filled with love for people Formed historic year of tradition, of attachment to the land, of Suffering and of pride. Michel HAS Admired for the long squarish Hebrew letter. DURING travel history in Israel, history of Hebrew calligraphy appreciation goes Even Farther: he Discovers the cursive letter, more living, more free and more modern. The initial admiration Become an Obvious and driving Will: to master the contours of the Hebrew alphabet to modernize it better liking to history, like HE HAD done with the Latin alphabet Before. Therefor, ET Begins to study alone and very Diligently, for the better of SEVERAL hours per week. The letters are pleasant to work with Michael Feels and again the historical beginnings of artistic emotions. A new world opens up to HIM Itself, with a Completely new range of forms and of signs. Today, Michel Takes Hebrew races to immerse Himself still more in this fascinating culture and to feel more profoundly again Significance of the sign was born Beneath His fingers. לעומקה את משמעות הסימנים שנוצרים תחת ידיו --------------- ------------ After having realized his dream of Malta through its two exhibitions of 2005, Michel begins work now on a new project: to open his art to Hebrew calligraphy. This is once again pay tribute to the maternal branch of his family, Sephardic Jewish expelled from Spain in 1492 before settling on the island of Gozo (Maltese Islands). This new project was in August 2004, during a trip to Israel. Upon his return, Michael is both shocked and overwhelmed by the love of a people in the history of tradition, attachment to their land, suffering and pride. Michel has long admired the Hebrew letter and square on his trip to Israel, his understanding of Hebrew calligraphy goes even further: he discovered the letter cursive, more alive, more free and more modern. Admiration initial moves in an obvious and strong will: manage the contours of the Hebrew alphabet to better update at will, as he had done before with the Latin alphabet. He begins to look very hard and only at a rate of several hours a week ... The letters are pleasant to work and feel the emotions Michel's artistic debut. A new world opens to him, with a whole new palette of shapes and signs. Today, Michel is taking Hebrew classes to soak up more of this fascinating culture and to feel more deeply the meaning of the sign to be born under his fingers.

Calligraphy Exhibition Besançon 2010 (58 photos)
Check out all my calligraphy for the exhibition: Israel Palestine "Peace as Utopia" from January 28 to February 28, 2010. Recently, the City of Besançon I ordered a series of Hebrew calligraphy for an exhibition in the main urban thoroughfare of the city center, along with a projection on water screen. The work I did for the City of Besançon part of a series of cultural events organized by the cities of the Rhine-Rhone Metropolis network. On the theme Utopias and innovations: inventing society, peace is a beautiful utopia in Besancon, which has a policy of cooperation in Israel and Palestine. The theme of water (Maim), source of life which, however, tears the Middle East and between men, calligraphy are the first verses of Genesis (Bereshit) and the different stages of the creation of the universe: the sky (שמים, shamayim) and earth (הארץ, Haaretz), the waters above and waters below (מים, mayim).
