Sponsoring : Exhibition to malta in 2005

On canvas, Michel gives himself up and abandons himself to his origins.

Introduction

I am a painter and calligrapher since 1989. My ancestors are Maltese and the love for this country was transmitted to me since childhood.
A large part of my work is devoted to Malta and is a homage to it’s colours, language, and great Maltese poets.
Many photographs of my works can be seen on my site: http://www.script-sign.com

I wanted to share my love for Malta as much as possible. At the time of the entry of Malta in the European Community, I contacted the Ministry of Gozo and the Museum St-James Cavalier who agreed to expose my works from September to November 2005.

This exhibition was already held in Bruges (Belgium) in December 2003 and Paris in September 2004, on the invitation of Mr Salvino Busuttil, Ambassadeur of Malta in France and in the presence of Mr. Jason Azzopardi. It will be enriched by many news works for the exposures of Malta.
My wish is to hold exhibitions in other countries after Malta.

Sponsoring

May I allow myself to ask you for your support. The cost of the two exposures is of approximately 6000 euros (invitation card, cocktail reception for the launch of the exhibition, transport of works, lodging, insurances...). Could you indicate either directly or by interposed relation, whether you have the possibility of giving me financial support for this project?

I would like to specify that I am able to bring my experience as painter, calligrapher and artistic director to any company able to answer my request favourably (free design of logos or any other visual aids, realization of paintings...).

I am at your disposal for any additional information.

Through his works, Michel D’anastasio shows firstly his generous feelings and his enthusiasm to share at the same time as the intimate need to belong to this maltese culture and its ancestors.

Because of this roots, until now asleep, that Michel wants to open out, via a sketch, a shape, a colour, this universe to which he passionately and mysteriously got attached to from a young age to soak up this strong cultural identity, Michel has decided to illuminate maltese poems by the magic of calligraphy and pigments which are reminders of the ochres and loud colours of the maltese land. so through canvas, Michel transmits a cultural and visual identity passing simultaniously from meaning to shape.

As a blank canvas comes to life in the hands of an artist, roots begin to vibrate at the contact of their history and land. Through this transposition is born the need to communicate and share this culture that doesn't just stop at the geographical frontiers of this country, but is transmitted non-stop from one heart to another.
